The use environment directly determines the protection level and material required by the distribution box. If the housing is not properly selected, moisture, dust, chemicals or extreme temperatures may affect the normal operation of the system.
Outdoor installation: high protection level (such as IP65 and above) should be selected to weather resistant shell, to prevent water and dust intrusion.
Hazardous places: oil refineries, chemical plants, mining areas and other areas may require explosion-proof or flameproof enclosures.
Corrosive environment: 304 or 316 stainless steel or powder coated aluminum alloy case is recommended to resist rust and chemical corrosion.
High temperature area: heat insulation layer or ventilation and heat dissipation options should be equipped to avoid internal overheating.
| Type of environment | Recommended level of protection | Recommended materials | Additional Requirements |
| Indoor environment | IP54-IP65 | Carbon steel (sprayed) | Basic protection |
| Outdoor/dusty | IP54-IP65 | 304 stainless steel | Rain cover, sealing strip |
| Wet/watery | IP65-IP67 | 304/316 stainless steel | Drainage hole, waterproof joint |
| Strong corrosion | IP65 and above | 316 stainless steel | Special purpose coating |
Tip: It is recommended to choose a box with an internal space 10%-20% larger than the current demand to provide room for subsequent upgrading and ensure heat dissipation conditions.
